Supreme Court says "Yes!" to online sales tax

In a 5-4 ruling, the Supreme Court has decided that online retail spaces can be required to collect sales tax even in states where they have no physical presence. When overruling Quill Corporation v. North Dakota, the Supreme Court opined that the 1992 decision had caused states to lose billions in annual tax revenues.

Ashley Leaves Chastek Library for Firm Life

It is somewhat bittersweet to announce that Ashley Sundin (Head of Public Services Librarian) will be leaving the Chastek Library to take a position as a Legal & Business Research Analyst at K&L Gates in their Seattle office.  Ashley has been at Gonzaga over 6 years and all of us in the Chastek Library have enjoyed working with her.  Ashley is a great law librarian and has done many good things at Gonzaga, including providing research to faculty, teaching law school classes (in-person and online) as an adjunct, supervising the public services department in the library, assisting with the library’s collection development, writing many articles for the NW Lawyer/Washington State Bar News magazine, teaching CLEs, and providing legal research training to students. She even earned an MBA from Gonzaga while working here.   Aside from her high level of competency as a law librarian, we will miss her wonderful attitude, work ethic, and sense of humor.  Ashley has seen a lot of cha
