Employee Spotlight: Ashley Sundin

Ashley Sundin is the Head of Public Services Librarian at Chastek Library and provides reference assistance to library patrons.

Ashley grew up near Seattle alongside her big sister, Kaitlin, and moved to Spokane five years ago when she began working at Gonzaga. Law librarianship, and even law school, wasn’t initially on the radar when she began her education. She earned her B.S. degree in Biology from Washington State University with the intention of going into veterinary medicine.  Life events and a change of plans led to law school at Seattle University, and then to the University of Washington for her Masters in Library and Information Science.  It seems that she can’t get enough of school as she earned her M.B.A. from Gonzaga University in 2017.

Ashley enjoys all things music, especially playing classical piano and listening to her all-time favorite, Tom Waits.  As a true Taurus, art and food are always at the top of her list of ways to spend her free time, as well as spoiling her dog, Studley (a Shih Tzu mix). She also made it through her first half marathon at Disney World in February 2018!
