Ashley Leaves Chastek Library for Firm Life

It is somewhat bittersweet to announce that Ashley Sundin (Head of Public Services Librarian) will be leaving the Chastek Library to take a position as a Legal & Business Research Analyst at K&L Gates in their Seattle office.  Ashley has been at Gonzaga over 6 years and all of us in the Chastek Library have enjoyed working with her.  Ashley is a great law librarian and has done many good things at Gonzaga, including providing research to faculty, teaching law school classes (in-person and online) as an adjunct, supervising the public services department in the library, assisting with the library’s collection development, writing many articles for the NW Lawyer/Washington State Bar News magazine, teaching CLEs, and providing legal research training to students. She even earned an MBA from Gonzaga while working here.

Aside from her high level of competency as a law librarian, we will miss her wonderful attitude, work ethic, and sense of humor.  Ashley has seen a lot of changes in the library during the past 6 years and she always handled the challenges very well.  Ashley never once complained, was a total team-player, and was always optimistic.  It will be difficult to replace her.

K&L Gates is an AmLaw top 100 law firm that has over 45 offices in the United States and all over the world. Her new job will be a good fit for her and we are confident she will do an excellent job in that challenging environment. She has been a good co-worker and friend.
